Who is Kevin Alexander?

Attorney Kevin F. Alexander is a graduate of Chicago Kent College of Law and has been practicing law for over twenty eight years. He graduated from law school and was licensed to practice law in 1984.
Kevin began his legal career as a staff attorney for a state agency and then joined the Illinois Secretary of State’s Administrative Hearings Section as a prosecuting attorney. After a short period of time, he was promoted to hearing officer in the same division. Though he enjoyed the public sector, Kevin desired to be in private practice and be more hands on in helping people resolve their legal matters. He opened a law office in Oak Park where he has practiced ever since.
Kevin’s practice has taken him down many roads. For several years he has concentrated in the practice areas of real estate including condominium law, estate planning (wills and trusts), business law and probate.
Kevin has closed on all types of real estate including single family homes, condominiums, apartment buildings, shopping centers and industrial property. He is also known for his experience in dealing with installment land sales contracts, solving complicated title issues and countless other areas of real estate law. He judges the success of each outcome according to the client’s satisfaction at the end.
Kevin has represented real estate developers in new construction and condominium conversion projects for many years. He oversaw all of the legal work for his own real estate development company that he started. The firsthand knowledge in dealing with construction law and development enhanced his already broad legal knowledge and experience.
Condominium law has always been a significant practice area for Kevin. He presently represents associations in the turn over process from the developer to the association. He represents associations in amending the declaration and by-laws for everything from bringing their documents up to date with the statutory requirements to changing the condominium rental policy, along with a multitude of other issues. He enjoys meeting with the groups and feels that understanding and putting yourself in the position of the client is key to resolving issues successfully.
Kevin has assisted many clients with their estate planning over the years. Because he believes that estate planning is one of the most important things someone does in their life, he has developed a reputation for having the patience and taking the time to make sure the right decisions are made for the long term. Whether it is preparing a will, a living trust, a power of attorney for property, a power of attorney for health care or a living will, he feels that proper estate planning brings a lifetime of peace of mind. That is his estate planning goal for all of his clients.
Since his first days in private practice, Mr. Alexander has been representing clients in the formation of new corporations and limited liability companies. Many times he has helped existing companies revise their legal structure that wasn’t best for the company. Kevin also has made transactional business law a main practice area, He closes on businesses, including franchises, both on the selling and buying sides.
Another practice area of Kevin’s is probate law. His compassion and understanding has eased the stress for many when probating the estate of a loved one or assisting the family of a loved one with trust administration.
